Bridget Griffen-Foley is a Professor of Media and an ARC Future Fellow at Macquarie University, where she was the inaugural Director of the Centre for Media History.
Bridget was elected to the Australian Academy of the Humanities in 2011 and to Council in 2016. She is a member of the Academy's History Section and the Cultural & Communication Studies Section.
Bridget's publications include The House of Packer (1999), Sir Frank Packer (2000, 2013), Party Games: Australian Politicians and the Media from War to Dismissal (2003), and Changing Stations: The Story of Australian Commercial Radio (2009). She served as historical consultant to Power Games: The Packer-Murdoch Story (2013) and edited the field-defining A Companion to the Australian Media (2014).
Bridget is a national selector for the Media Hall of Fame; a member of the Australian Dictionary of Biography's Editorial Board and its New South Wales Working Party; and she also serves on the editorial advisory boards of Media History, the Historical Journal of Film, Radio and Television, Media International Australia, the Australian Journal of Politics and History, and the Palgrave Studies in the History of the Media series.
