Alison Wylie is Professor of Philosophy at the University of British Columbia and Canada Research Chair in the Philosophy of the Social and Historical Sciences. Her work focuses on epistemic and ethical questions raised by research practice in the social and historical sciences. Her training has allowed her to bridge archaeology and philosophy, enriching both subjects, as well as reaching out beyond to other disciplines. She also publishes on feminist standpoint theory and on normative issues raised by an ethic of stewardship and collaborative practice in archaeology. She is President of the Philosophy of Science Association for 2019-20.
