Biography

Robin Derricourt is an archaeologist, historian, author and publisher. His primary work in archaeology was in southern Africa where he was university lecturer and director of a national antiquities service. Among his publishing positions he was an editorial director of Cambridge University Press in the UK and Australia, and from 1997 to 2010 the director of the University of New South Wales Press. He is an honorary Professor of History at UNSW, and his recent books integrate archaeology and history to reflect his research interests with surveys of imagined pasts, origins of religions, children in prehistory and key innovations in human history.
