Biography

Ken Gelder is Professor of English at the University of Melbourne, where he is also a co-director of the Australian Centre. He is internationally known for his work on popular fiction, genre cinema and subcultures. He is also nationally and internationally renowned for his work in Australian literary studies, both contemporary and colonial. He was recently awarded his fourth ARC DP in colonial literary studies, to look at ecological and environmental issues.
