Rodney Thomson

Biography

Rodney Thomson is Emeritus Professor at the University of Tasmania, in the School of Humanities. His research interests include British, European and Australian History, Historical studies, history of Philosophy, Archaeology of Europe, the Mediterranean and the Levant and Asian Cultural Studies. He has written on the libraries of Bury St Edmunds and St Albans abbeys, on the Benedictine scholar-historian William of Malmesbury, and has made descriptive catalogues of the manuscripts at Lincoln, Hereford and Worcester Cathedrals, and at Merton College, Oxford. He is currently working on the manuscripts at Corpus Christi College, Oxford. Together with Em. Prof. Michael Winterbottom of Oxford University, he is also editing William of Malmesbury’s Commentary on Lamentations for the series Corpus Christianorum.
