Biography

Michael Osborne has served as Vice-Chancellor of La Trobe University and Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President of the Academic Board at the University of Melbourne. At the University of Melbourne he served as Professor of Classical Studies and Head of the Department of Classical and Near Eastern Studies. He is currently Guest Professor at Peking University and at Beijing Foreign Studies University. He is a Laureate of the Belgian Royal Academy of Sciences, Letters and Fine Arts; a Corresponding Member of the Academy of Athens; an Honorary Fellow of the Hungarian Academy of Engineering and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management. He is Chair of the Board of the National Centre for Hellenic Studies and Research.
