Biography

Tim Mehigan is Head of School and Professor of German at the School of Languages and Comparative Cultural Studies, the University of Queensland. In 1998 he joined the (then) Department of Germanic Studies at the University of Melbourne. In 1994 and 1995 Tim spent two years as a Humboldt scholar at the University of Munich. He has published books and articles on authors such as Kleist, Brecht, Eichendorff, Musil and Thomas Bernhard as well as in the area of foreign language pedagogy. He has a special interest in drama and founded the Department’s drama group, the Germanic Players. In 1996 he organised and directed Schau Forum, an international festival of foreign language drama held in Leverkusen, Germany.
