Andrew McNamara

Biography

Andrew McNamara is an art historian and a Professor, Queensland University of Technology (QUT). His research focuses on the modernist legacy for contemporary art and culture. His research explores key points of modernist practice and transmission, while at the same time endeavoring to articulate the connections (and differences) between modernist and contemporary practices. His collaborative research tends to involve interdisciplinary teams as well as being multi-disciplinary in scope and content. He has won two national (Australian) art history publication awards.
