Biography

William Loader is Emeritus Professor at Murdoch University and Extraordinary Professor, North-West University, South Africa. From 2005-10 he was an Australian Research Council Professorial Fellow based at Murdoch University. Prior to this he was Professor of New Testament at Murdoch University and Principal of the Perth Theological Hall of the Uniting Church in Australia. He is Assistant Secretary for International Initiatives of the Society for New Testament Studies coordinating Liaison Committees in Eastern Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean, Africa, and the Asia Pacific to promote New Testament research.

Bill is bilingual – English and German – and has published the following in German: Sohn und Hoherpriester. Eine traditionsgeschichtliche Untersuchung zur Christologie des Hebräerbriefes (WMANT 53, Neukirchen-Vluyn: Neukirchener Verlag, 1981); Glaube in der Bewährung. Hebräerbriefe-Jakobusbrief: Bibelauslegung für die Praxis 25 (Stuttgart: Deutsche Bibelgesellschaft/Katholisches Bibelwerk, 1990); Commentary on Hebrews, 160pp (jointly authored; Bill wrote the introduction and exegetical commentary for the section on Hebrews which takes the first 91pp of which Bill’s contribution is 43pp; Sexualität in Wissenschaftliche Bibel Lexikon (Stuttgart: Wissenschaftliche Bibelgesellschaft, 2015); Neuere Tendenzen in der Matthausforschung, in Update-Exegese 2.1.
