Biography

Dr Kumar is a specialist on Indonesian historiography, politics and religion. Her current work includes the investigation of a possible pre-historic connection between Indonesia and Japan. She has a secondary research interest in philology and traditional Indonesian literature. She is Consultant Editor with the Lontar Foundation in Jakarta and is a reviewer for several international journals, including the Journal of Asian Studies, American Ethnologist, and the Journal of Southeast Asian Studies.
