Biography

Wallace Kirsop’s teaching interests include sixteenth and seventeenth-century literature; civilisation (especially the history of Paris); bibliography and book history. He researches in the areas of physical bibliography and book history and his current projects are a descriptive bibliography of seventeeth-century editions of the plays of Jean de Rotrou (1609-50); and, with Patricia Gray, subscription publishing in eighteenth-century France. He was the editor of the Australian Journal of French Studies from 1968 to 2002.
