Biography

Richard Hunter is Regius Professor of Greek at the University of Cambridge and a Fellow of Trinity College. He was educated at Cranbrook School, Sydney University, and the University of Cambridge where he has taught since 1977. His area of study is Greek literature and its reception at Rome. He has edited the Journal of Hellenic Studies and held visiting positions at Princeton and the University of Virginia.

In January 2013 he was elected first president of the management council of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. In July 2013 he was elected a Fellow of the British Academy.
