Biography

Jeremy Green is the the Head of Department of Maritime Archaeology at the Western Australian Museum. He was awarded the Rhys Jones medal in 2007 for his work in the development of maritime archaeology in Australia and the Keith Muckelroy Prize for Achievement in the Field of Maritime Archaeology. Jeremy established the Department of Maritime Archaeology at the Western Australian Museum, co-founded the Maritime Archaeological Association of Western Australian (MAAWA), and helped found the Australasian Institute for Maritime Archaeology (AIMA) for which he was made foundation president. He was Head of the Australian National Centre for Excellence in Maritime Archaeology, adjunct Associate Professor at Curtin University of Technology and James Cook University, and Advisory Editor of the International Journal of Nautical Archaeology
In 2016 he was awarded an honorary Doctor of Letters from the University of Western Australia for service to maritime archaeology.
