Biography

Patricia Clarke is a writer, editor and historian, who has written extensively on women in nineteenth-century Australia. Several of her publications are biographies of women writers and others explore the role of letters and diaries in the lives of women. She edited Judith Wright’s autobiography and is joint author of selections of Judith Wright’s letters. She is a former President of the Canberra & District Historical Society and is a Fellow of the Federation of Australian Historical Societies. She was founding Honrary Secretary of the Independent Scholars Association of Australia, 1995-2000.
