Biography

Born in Adelaide; Schooling in Adelaide, Brisbane and Sydney, completing HSC in 1961.
Undergraduate study during 1962-5 at University of Sydney for BSc, gaining 1st class honours and University Medal in Pure Maths.
Completed MA with 1st class honours in Formal Logic at University of New England in 1966.
Completed PhD in Formal Logic at the University of St. Andrews, Scotland in 1971.
Appointed Lecturer in Mathematics at University of Western Australia in 1971.
Appointed Lecturer in Philosophy at La Trobe University for 1972-6; Senior Lecturer for 1977-2002; Reader and Associate Professor from 2003.
