Paul Redding

Biography

Paul Redding was educated at the University of New South Wales and the University of Sydney where he is currently Emeritus Professor of Philosophy in the School of Philosophical and Historical Inquiry. He works in the areas of Kantian philosophy and the tradition of continental idealism. In particular he is interested in the relationship of this tradition to the later movements of analytic philosophy and pragmatism, and in issues in idealist logic, philosophical psychology and philosophy of religion. Currently he is working on two projects, one linking idealist logical doctrines forward to twentieth century pragmatist approaches to philosophy, the other linking idealist ethical doctrines backwards to eighteenth century theories of “moral sense”.
