Biography

The focus of Cliff Hooker’s research is on developing a naturalistic, complex systems-based understanding of life, including mind, science, ethics and culture. Cliff is the leader of the Complex Systems Research Group, and the description of the research carried under its aegis provides a detailed guide to Cliff’s current activites. Specific areas of investigation include: analysis of fundamental systems concepts; organisation in biological sytems; intelligent agents; dynamical systems models of science; models of socio-cultural dynamics; reduction and emergence in dynamical systems.
