Biography

Patricia Grimshaw is a Professor Emeritus and Professorial Research Fellow in the School of Historical and Philosophical Studies at the University of Melbourne where she taught Australian history and gender studies for many years.

She has served as President of the International Federation for Research in Women’s History; Deputy Editor of the Women’s Historical Review; Book Editor and Chair of the Board, Australian Historical Studies; and as a member of the Boards of Gender and History, the Journal of Women’s History, Australian Feminist Studies, the Pacific History Review and the Journal of Imperial and Commonwealth History. Patricia has also been President of the Oral History Association of Victoria, President of the Australian Network for Research in Women’s History, and a member of the Board of the National Federation of Australian Women.
