Biography

Moira Gatens took her honours undergraduate degree in Philosophy at UNSW and completed her Doctorate at the University of Sydney. She was employed at Monash University and the Australian National University (1987-92) before accepting a position at the University of Sydney. She has been a visiting fellow at the London School of Economics and Political Science, the Erskine Fellow at Christchurch, NZ, fellow of the Wissenschaftskolleg in Berlin (2007-08), and held the Spinoza Chair at the University of Amsterdam (2010). In 2012 she was appointed Challis Professor of Philosophy at the University of Sydney.
