Researching Post-Capitalist Possibilities Conference
Date: 25 January, 2018
Location: Level 9 Conference Room, Western Sydney University Parramatta City Campus, 169 Macquarie Street, Parramatta
Overview: Western Sydney University Institute for Cultural Studies' one-day conference on 'Researching Post-Capitalist Possibiliites' will aim to address the following questions:
- What role can the humanities and social sciences play in making other worlds possible?
- What capacities do we have as scholars to shape the world?
- What ethical responsibilities and earthly cares come with this work?
Potential answers to these difficult questions might benefit from collective thinking and learning. This one day conference follows the six day Researching Postcapitalist Possibilities Summer School. It is open to a wide audience, as well as to pre-registered summer school participants. The conference offers an opportunity to think and learn together. It will present recent research by members of the Community Economies Research Network.
Conference papers will be available to pre-read after 8 January 2018. Conference sessions will take the form of short 10-minute presentations followed by in depth discussion and appreciative inquiry. Only registered attendees will be given access to the papers.
