Overview: The Foundation for Australian Studies in China (FASIC) is seeking Expressions of Interest from qualified applicants for the BHP Chair of Australian Studies at Peking University (Chair) located in the School of International Studies at Peking University.
FASIC is a non-profit foundation established independently of the Australian Government to manage the position and receive sponsorship and other funds in support of the Chair and the Australian Studies in China program. The School of International Studies at Peking University is the first and leading educational institution dedicated to the learning and research of international affairs in Chinese universities.
The successful applicant will be the third occupant of the Chair following Professor David Walker FASSA FAHA, who was appointed as the inaugural Chair in November 2012 and Professor Greg McCarthy who was appointed as the second Chair in August 2015.
FASIC is responsible for the selection and management of the position. The Selection Committee includes representatives of FASIC, Peking University and the Australia China Council.
