Secretariat

Our Secretariat is based in Canberra and is responsible for the day-to-day running of the Academy, working closely with our President and Council to achieve our strategic goals.

Roles within the Secretariat focus on our Fellowship, including our electoral processes, our events, policy and research work, publications, communications and media, and the opportunities we offer to the broader humanities community. The Secretariat team is led by Executive Director Tina Parolin.

The Secretariat is the first point of contact for all dealings with the Academy — please get in touch.

Dr Kylie Brass, overseeing our policy efforts, research agenda, and special projects.

DIRECTOR, COMMUNICATIONS & ENGAGEMENT

Dr Julia Evans, responsible for our communication plan, Symposium and events, and engagement initiatives.

ADMINISTRATION MANAGER

Josephine Ponsford, accountable for Secretariat operations, finance and Council.

COMMUNICATIONS & AWARDS COORDINATOR

Elizabeth (Liz) Bradtke, managing our communication activities, publications, international engagement, and grants and awards.

RESEARCH OFFICER

Dr Iva Glisic, contributing to the Academy’s research agenda and policy work.

FELLOWSHIP COORDINATOR (part-time)

Chris O’Neil, direct liaison for Fellows and Sections, as well as managing the electoral matters.

ADMINISTRATION ASSISTANT (part-time)

Ashleigh Richards, supporting the operational and financial functions of the Academy.
