Australian researchers face a number of difficulties in developing a research career. The Australian Council of Learned Academies (ACOLA) has been asked to develop best practice guidelines, which would improve career development for researchers in all fields.
The first step is to undertake a wide-ranging survey of researchers in all disciplines and at all stages in their careers. ACOLA invites researchers to complete the survey
, which aims to identify both the problems and possible solutions. The closing date for responses is 28 October 2011.
More information about the project is available on the ACOLA website.
A number of survey respondents will be asked to attend a two-hour workshop in capital cities, where these ideas can be discussed in greater detail.
