Visiting Scholar Programme

This programme allows Australian scholars and institutions to facilitate the visits of scholars from both Russia/the Former Soviet Republics and Indonesia/South-East Asia to attend conferences in Australia or to access research materials held in Australia. Up to two scholars from the two regions (four in total), identified above may receive financial assistance each year. For Russia and the Former Soviet Republics, the amount provided is $3500. For Indonesia and South-East Asia, the amount provided is $2000.

Application Procedure

Applicants must consult the Rules of Award before applying. These will be available here when the programme re-opens.

Reporting

The Academy requires that a report from the Australian host be submitted on completion of the scholarly visit. Please contact the Programme Manager for more details.

Closing Date

The Australian Academy of the Humanities regrets to advise that until further notice the Humanities Travelling Fellowships programme, the Visiting Scholar Programme and the Publication Subsidy Scheme have been suspended due to funding considerations.
