Dr Robert Young is a Research Associate at La Trobe University. His expertise is in the fields of Ethics; Social and Political Philosophy; and the Philosophy of Religion. He has research interests in freedom and autonomy; moral and political philosophy; bioethics; social justice and equality; moral psychology; and the philosophy of religion, especially philosophical problems in Judaeo-Christian theology.

He has published widely on metaphysics; moral and political philosophy; moral psychology; and the philosophy of religion. His books include Freedom, Responsibility and God (1975), Personal Autonomy: Beyond Negative and Positive Freedom (1986) and Medically Assisted Death (2007).
