Peter Alexander has written five literary biographies (published by OUP and Harvester Press) and edited six volumes of modern poetry and prose. His latest book is an edition of the Diary of Iris Vaughan. Other publications include work on Jane Austen, Nadine Gordimer, Laurens van der Post, Africa and the libretti of Benjamin Britten's operas. He is currently working on an edition of the correspondence of Alan Paton, and on a book focussing on the intersection of spiritual beliefs and artistic production.
