The Academy Fellows
As of 31 December 2006, the AAH had 454 Fellows, of whom 362 are voting Fellows, 39 are overseas Fellows, and 53 are honorary Fellows.
The Academy wishes to welcome and congratulate its new Fellows, who were elected to membership at the 2007 Annual General Meeting. The list, including short briefings on each new Fellow, is available in HTML form, Portable Document (.PDF, 436KB) and Microsoft Word (.DOC, 100KB) formats. 24 new Fellows were elected, including 4 new Honorary Fellows.
Election to the Fellowship takes place at the Annual General Meeting, following nomination by Council on the advice of the ten Electoral Sections. Candidates proposed by Fellows for election are of the highest distinction in scholarship. Election to the Fellowship is normally for life. In addition to university and museum scholars, the Fellowship includes some of Australia's leading artists, musicians and writers.
The approved abbreviation for a Fellow is FAHA.
