Dr Christina Parolin (Executive Director)

Christina has worked at the Academy since 2008, and was appointed Executive Director in March 2010. She gained her PhD in history from the Australian National University. Christina has worked in a variety of policy and administrative roles across the higher education sector. Her latest book, Radical Spaces: Venues of Popular Politics in London 1790-c.1845, was published in 2010 by ANU E Press.

Dr Kylie Brass (Policy and Projects Manager)

Kylie is Policy and Projects Manager at the Academy. She oversees the Academy’s policy and research work. Prior to joining the Academy in 2009 she worked at the Centre for Cultural Research at the University of Western Sydney where she researched and published in the areas of media, cultural policy and higher education.

Catherine Peake (Fellowship & Events Coordinator)

As the Fellowship Coordinator, Catherine manages the Academy’s electoral process, the Fellowship data and liaises with the Fellows and the Heads of Electoral Sections. She also coordinates Academy events such as the annual Symposium, Annual General Meeting and other various Academy projects.

Dr Meredith Wilson (International Coordinator)

Meredith joined the Academy in August 2012 as the International Coordinator. In this part time role she works closely with the International Secretary to implement the Academy’s International Strategy. Meredith has an academic and consulting background in the archaeology and cultural heritage of the Pacific region.

Role of the Secretariat

The Secretariat is responsible for the day-to-day running of the Academy, including:
  • managing the Academy's programmes and events;
  • liaising with the public and the media;
  • publishing material on behalf of the Academy; 
  • facilitating links between the Council and Fellows of the Academy and the Government;
  • formulating policy in conjunction with the Council of the Academy and the Policy Committee;
  • undertaking research;
  • providing support and Fellowship services; and
  • liaising with international partners and allied organisations.
